Founder

With more than 36 years in the oil and gas industry, WellWorx founder Jason Wheatley brings extensive international experience in well operations, intervention, and integrity. His career has spanned field operations, technical leadership, and management roles across the Middle East, South America, and the UK, building a strong track record in delivering complex well operations across diverse operating environments. 

Before establishing WellWorx, Jason held senior operational roles with ADNOC and BP, including leading Well Operations for ADNOC Offshore's artificial-island developments and managing Well Intervention & Integrity for BP's Jordan tight-gas exploration programme. Earlier assignments included nine years supporting complex well operations with BP in Colombia and operational and training roles with Schlumberger, where he honed his skills as one of the leading well intervention experts in the field.

WellWorx was established to bring this operator and service-company experience directly to clients, providing independent, practical support for complex well challenges across the well lifecycle.

Florencia is an experienced HR professional with more than 20 years of international experience across diverse industries and cultures. Her background combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational experience, supporting organisations through growth, change and development.

She specialises in developing practical, people-focused strategies that align workforce capability with business objectives, while building positive, high-performing working environments.

In addition to her HR expertise, Florencia brings experience in business development, giving her a broader commercial perspective and an understanding of how people, organisational capability and business growth are connected.

Distinguished Advisor

Martin Rylance has built a distinguished international career in the petroleum industry, marked by significant roles at THREE60 Energy and BP Exploration. His expertise spans over 12 countries and extends to more than 42 global operations. Martin's specialization lies in Hydraulic Fracturing and Pressure Operations, with a focus on launching new country operations and facilitating technology transfer in oil and gas consulting.

Renowned for his work in challenging tectonic stress regimes, Martin has contributed to projects ranging from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ring of Fire, playing a crucial role in successful field developments worldwide. His technical prowess in Hydraulic Fracturing and Completions, particularly in extreme HPHT and Sour (H2S) environments, sets him apart as one of the leading well intervention experts in the industry.

Martin's career is highlighted by his leadership in unconventional and tight-gas/tight-oil development as Discipline Lead Frac. and Stim. at THREE60 Energy and BP. He has also been instrumental in Coiled Tubing Drilling and Multilateral well technology, enhancing reservoir access across multiple countries.

After a tenure as BP Russia Wells Manager, overseeing joint ventures and technical operations, Martin has transitioned to a pivotal role at THREE60 Energy, contributing to its global expansion and the advancement of technology in oil and gas.

Senior Advisor

With more than 20 years of international experience in well completions, stimulation, and well performance, Omar has worked across conventional and unconventional developments from the Middle East and North Africa to the North Sea.

Omar's background spans hydraulic fracturing, acid stimulation, sand control, well interventions, fracture diagnostics, completion strategy, and production performance with experience ranging from detailed stimulation design and execution to basis-of-design development, technical assurance, contracting strategy, and organizational capability building. His career includes senior technical and leadership roles with bp and Schlumberger. 

He has also supported technical capability development through mentoring, training, and knowledge transfer across multidisciplinary and international teams.

As a Senior Advisor to WellWorx, he contributes technical perspective, industry experience, and strategic insight across completions and stimulation.

Omar holds an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.

With an impressive 44-year career in the upstream oil and gas industry, John Johnson brings extensive expertise and insight to his work. Starting from a solid foundation in drilling, John transitioned more than three decades ago to focus on well intervention, where he has consistently delivered solutions for high-profile, challenging projects, often in remote and demanding regions.

John’s comprehensive knowledge of upstream equipment—from its specific functions to its role within complex projects enables him to develop cohesive, multidisciplinary strategies. He excels in designing and managing interventions to repair, stimulate or reactivate damaged or shut-in wells, helping clients maximise production from their assets.

Known for his ability to connect with customers, John specialises in diagnosing well issues and aligning client objectives with best-in-class well intervention engineering practices and innovative, bespoke solutions. Whether involving coiled tubing, snubbing, HWO, slickline, wireline or other specialised equipment, John’s focus on safety, well control and operational efficiency ensures the highest standards are maintained.

John has a global track record spanning Asia, the Middle East and South America, successfully navigating diverse cultural and operational environments. His ability to adapt and collaborate across disciplines has established him as a trusted expert in cost-effective, rigless well interventions on complex wells, helping clients maximise production while minimising downtime.

John is a problem solver, strategist and leader in well intervention engineering, driven by a commitment to technical excellence and operational results.

Senior Advisor

With over 32 years in the global oil and gas industry, Damian is a seasoned Well Operations expert, particularly recognized among well intervention experts for his skills in drilling, completions, and interventions. Starting his journey at SLB Dowell in 1994, he pioneered underbalanced coiled tubing drilling (CTD) in the North Sea for BP, successfully leading multi-skilled teams in coiled tubing, cementing, and production. His global expansion involved training national crews in Russia (Siberia) and Kazakhstan (Karachaganak), where he managed HPHT H2S/CO2 wells and secured valuable contracts with Tengiz ChevOil.

During his tenure as BJ Services Region Operations Manager (2002-2010) for MER, North Africa, and Russia, he successfully added 20 coiled tubing units to the fleet, designed innovative equipment including lift frames and concentric CT, and implemented foam cementing, sand jet perforating, and global-first intervention tools that have since become industry standards.

As an experienced consultant (2011-2015), he oversaw complex workovers in the North Sea, Kurdistan, and the UAE, tackling projects that included subsea recoveries, heavy oil drilling, and EPF setups. His critical role at ZADCO/ADNOC Offshore (2015-2019) involved leading Upper Zakum Island operations with a focus on SIMOPS, mega-reach interventions, nationalization, and flawless HSE.

Damian's expertise extends across remote, high-pressure, and ERD settings in over 15 countries. He excels in oil and gas consulting, proficient in planning and execution, driving innovation for interventions and stimulation, conducting software modeling, performing risk assessments, ensuring QHSE standards, and demonstrating multicultural leadership, all while staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.
